Loretta is a fifth-generation North Queensland local and offers an intrinsic knowledge of the distance and limitations to emergency medical access in the region. Her passion for helping people led her to commit to studying whilst working and raising a family to become a Registered Nurse in 2016.
In her words, she’s now ‘living the dream’ and is further applying her passion and understanding of the need for education and assistance through her Baby First Aid Qld social enterprise. Loretta and her husband’s regular road trips, and journeys have enabled her to network, broadly. She frequently drives 100s of kilometres to present her training sessions and speak to people about baby first aid, and the benefits of it for not only attendees but those that want to become involved.
Loretta currently has three educators working with her – in Cairns, Townsville and Mackay – and has plans to increase her ‘dream team’ to ten. She is in the process of recruiting trainers, with her eye set to expand into the more rural and remote areas.
Our expertise extends to conducting both Group and Individual Baby First Aid courses, which can be hosted at your residence or a public location.
Baby First Aid QLD is a business for good that is on a mission to ensure all parents and carers have access to quality skills in first aid to apply if their child is sick, injured or in an emergency situation.
We provide our courses across Queensland, so would respectfully like to acknowledge the traditional owners of our land, past, present and emerging. We are committed to learning and understanding the truth of our First Nations people and sharing this truth. We would like to acknowledge the traditional owners of the land that we work, play and care for our families on.
Baby First Aid QLD would also like to extend our respect to the LBGTQIA+ community and show our commitment to being an inclusive enterprise. We stand by strong principles and take pride in living by these.
