FAQ's

Baby First Aid Qld FAQ's:

Have a question about our baby first aid sessions? We have got the answers here!

What if I need to reschedule my booking date?

We are parents too and understand that things come up, we just ask that you let us know ASAP so that we can notify our educators.

1. Rescheduling your group booking to another date:

We understand things happen out of your control. If you need to reschedule your group booking, you will be required to pay an $80AUD administration fee. This will be paid prior to confirming your next date.

2. Rescheduling your individual booking to another date:

If a person cannot attend your booking and contact us prior to the booking, they can organise their own in-person group booking event. They will be required to pay the minimum booking fee and they will be provided credit to the value of their original booking fee on top of this. If contact is made after the booking date no refund/reschedule or credit will be provided.

If this person was part of the three people included in the minimum booking fee for the original booking, the original booking cannot attain refund or credit.

How do I pay?

We use a booking platform that allows you to make payment upfront for the minimum booking. Once we confirm your session, we will create a booking link that you can distribute to all participants. Payment is made online at the time of booking to secure your spot. No cash payments will be accepted on the day of your event.

Why take a Baby First Aid Qld baby first aid course?

Baby First Aid Qld aims to save lives through information-only baby first aid sessions. We are not a registered RTO and we do not offer accredited courses, but our courses are formulated by a registered nurse with several years’ experience in the industry. Our courses are also peer reviewed and created in line with first aid best practice and CPR guidelines.

Can I bring my baby to my session?

Absolutely. At Baby First Aid Qld we are all about eliminating the barriers for parents to access this life saving information. Both our Public and Private sessions are 100% baby friendly, so there is no need to find a babysitter, in fact why not bring your babysitter along with you - they might find some value in our sessions too.

What about older children?

Children of all ages are welcome to attend our sessions. Children over the age of 12 will be expected to have a paid ticket if they are participating in the session. Children under 12 can attend for free and we can also provide some colouring/activity sheets for them if you let us know they are going to be there in advance.

What is the minimum number for a private session?

We know not everyone has family or friends that are at the same stage of life as you may be and may not be able to get a large group together to hold a private session, this is why we only require two people as a minimum for all our private sessions. A minimum booking fee will apply for two people but includes up to three people if you want to include someone else. This means you can have comfort in knowing you can still learn lifesaving information without having to get a large group together. The booking fee also includes a travel fee up to 60km from the city centre.

Are you a Registered Training Organisation (RTO)?

No. We are not an RTO.

Are the sessions workplace accredited?

No. We do not offer accredited courses for the purposes of the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA). We run information only education and therefore are not workplace accredited programs. We do this deliberately to help keep the programs affordable and accessible for our participants, it also means that we are not restricted with the content we can teach you and can tailor each individual session to the learning needs of the participants. Therefore, this course will not meet the requirement for workplace first aid training. If you require a first aid course for work, you should contact an organisation that runs accredited courses.

What does it mean that your educators are ‘certified’?

When our educators undergo educator training with us (learning to teach others the course), they receive a certificate of completion and will become ‘certified’ for the purpose of teaching Parentmedic courses. This is different from an accredited course under ASQA.

Do I receive a certificate?

Yes, we can provide a certificate of completion after you attend the course. Please let us know if you would like one as these certificates can be used for professional development for some fields of work.

Are Gift certificates available?

Yes, we do have gift certificates available to purchase. Gift certificates are a great and popular gift for those new parents who already have everything for their new baby, but they can also be a thoughtful gift idea for that first time grandparent.

How do I give feedback?

We really value your feedback; it is how we grow as a business. After your session you will receive an email asking for feedback on your session and your educator.
